Article - Main Track New technologies and paradigms in education and research: some reflections Author: BHAYA, A.; LINDEN, R. Abstract: This article calls attention to the fact that higher education and research worldwide is being transformed by new tools, new methods of evaluation and collaboration and so on. Although some notice has been taken of this in Brazil, by and large, there has not been much debate or discussion on the impact of these novelties on university education and research. We briefly discuss some of these new ideas and technologies and speculate on the changes that they might or should engender in the Brazilian system of higher education.
